In rhombus MATH, the coordinates of the endpoints of the diagonal MT are M(0, 2) and T(4, 6). Write an equation of the line that contains diagonal AH. Give your answer in slope-intercept form.

Answers

Answer:

y = - x + 6

Step-by-step explanation:

-- Rhombus diagonals are perpendicular and bisect each other.

-- A( [tex]x_{1}[/tex] , [tex]y_{1}[/tex] ) and B( [tex]x_{2}[/tex] , [tex]y_{2}[/tex] )

Coordinates of the midpoint of a segment AB are

( [tex]\frac{x_{1} +x_{2} }{2}[/tex] , [tex]\frac{y_{1} +y_{2} }{2}[/tex] )

and formula of a slope of the line segment AB is

m = [tex]\frac{y_{2} -y_{1} }{x_{2} -x_{1} }[/tex]

-- If AB ⊥ CD then [tex]m_{AB}[/tex] × [tex]m_{CD}[/tex] = - 1

-- Slope-point of linear equation is

y - [tex]y_{1}[/tex] = m( x - [tex]x_{1}[/tex] )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
M(0, 2)
T(4, 6)
[tex]m_{MT}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{6-2}{4-0}[/tex] = 1
[tex]m_{AH}[/tex] = - 1
Coordinates of the intersection of the diagonals are ( [tex]\frac{4+0}{2}[/tex] , [tex]\frac{6+2}{2}[/tex] ) = (2, 4)
y - 4 = - 1(x - 2)
y = - x + 6 is slope-intercept form of the diagonal AH
A group of 4444 friends is playing cards. The deck has 70707070 cards. To start the game, the dealer makes a pile of 15151515 cards in the center. Then she deals the remaining cards one at a time to each player until all the cards are gone.
What is the greatest number of cards any player will have after all the cards are dealt?
cards
Answers
Answer:
12502 cards
Step-by-step explanation:
Given:
» total of 70707070 cards of the deck
» 15151515 cards were taken and put in a pile
Solve:
1. So, you can subtract 15151515 from 70707070 to find how many cards are left:
70707070 - 15151515 = 55555555
2. Now, there are 55555555 cards remaining in the deck since 15151515 cards were taken to put in a pile. Since the dealer deals the remaining cards to 4444 people, you can just do 55555555 divided by 4444 to find how many cards each person gets:
55555555 ÷ 4444 = 12501.25
3. 12501.25 is the exact number of cards each person gets, but you can’t have a fraction/part of a card. You have to find a specific remaining number:
0.25 is the same as [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex], and so convert [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex] into a fraction with a denominator of 4444, but is still equivalent to [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex]: You’ll get [tex]\frac{1111}{4444}[/tex], which is correct because it’s still equivalent to [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex]
4. So, the remaining 55555555 cards divided by 4444 people is 12501 cards and a remainder of 1111 cards. The 1111 cards can be distributed upon the players, but not everyone can get it. Since 12501 were to given to the players and after the remaining 1111 were also distributed, this means that some will have 12501 cards and others will have 12502 cards.
Answer: So, the greatest number of cards any player will have after all the cards are dealt is 12502 cards.
Answers
This question is incomplete, the complete question is;
Assume that body masses of Goldfinch birds follow a normal distribution, with a standard deviation equal to 0.04 oz. An ornithologist who would like to make some inference about the average body mass of the Goldfinch birds. In particular, at a significance level of 0.01, she would like to test the null hypothesis H₀: Average body mass of the Goldfinch birds is 0.5 oz, against the alternative claim that average body size is less than 0.5 oz.
      Assume that a random sample of 4 Goldfinch birds are going to be used to test the above hypothesis. Compute the largest value of the sample mean, that will allow the experimenter reject the null and prove the alternative at significance level 0.01. For this problem, make sure that your solution includes all steps of your computation. You will not earn points if you just use a formula
Answer: the largest value of the sample mean that will enable the experimenter to reject the null hypothesis is 0.4534 oz.
Step-by-step explanation:
Let us consider testing a hypothesis about a population mean with population standard deviation that is known,
Let the average body mass of the Goldfinch bird be μ^μ
Now our hypotheses are will be;
H₀ : μ = 0.5    and
H₁ : μ < 0.5
For the test, we shall use the z statistic which will be
z = (x"-μ)/(σ/√n)
Now given that;
σ = 0.04 and n = 4
sample mean x" = ?
Now in order to be able to reject the null hypothesis, the p-value should be ≤ α = 0.01.
so to find the largest value of sample mean, we will use the maximum of p-value that is 0.01.
For a p-value = 0.01 at the lower tail (which is the percentile for z),
the corresponding z will be -2.33
so we substitute our values into our formula
z = (x"-μ)/(σ/√n)
z(σ/√n) = (x"-μ)
-2.33(0.04/√n) = (x"-0.5)
-0.0466 = x" - 0.5
x" = 0.5 - 0.0466
x"= 0.4534
therefore the largest value of the sample mean that will enable the experimenter to reject the null hypothesis is 0.4534 oz.
How to Solve a Hexagon
Updated October 23, 2018
By Chris Deziel
A polygon is any closed two-dimensional figure with 3 or more straight (not curved) sides, and a 12-sided polygon is known as a dodecagon. A regular dodecagon is one with equal sides and angles, and it's possible to derive a formula for calculating its area. An irregular dodecagon has sides of different lengths and different angles. A six-pointed star is an example. There's no easy way to calculate the area of an irregular 12-sided figure unless you happen to have it plotted on a graph and can read the coordinates of each of the vertices. If not, the best strategy is to divide the figure into regular shapes for which you can calculate the area.
Calculating the Area of a Regular 12-Sided Polygon
To calculate the area of a regular dodecagon, you have to find its center, and the best way to do that is to scribe a circle around it that just touches each of its vertices. The center of the circle is the center of the dodecagon, and the distance from the center of the figure to each of its vertices is simply the radius of the circle (r). Each of the 12 sides of the figure is the same length, so denote this by s.
You need one more measurement, and that's the length of a perpendicular line drawn from the midpoint of each side to the center of the 12-sided shape. This line is known as the apothem. Denote its length by m. It divides each section formed by the radius lines into two right-angled triangles. You don't know m, but you can find it using the Pythagorean theorem.
The 12 radius lines divide the circle you scribed around the dodecagon into 12 equal sections, so at the center of the figure, the angle each line makes with the one next to it is 30 degrees. Each of the 12 sections formed by the radius lines is made up of a pair of right-angled triangles with hypotenuse r and one angle of 15 degrees. The side adjacent to the angle is m, so you can find it using r and the sine of the angle.
Step-by-step explanation:
The area of the polygon is  344.18 square inches.
What is the area?
The area is the amount of area occupied by an object's flat (2-D) surface or shape.
Given:
A regular 12-gon has a side length of 8 inches.
Apothem of the polygon,
a = {8/2(tan180/8)}
a = 8/2tan22.5
a = 7.17 inches.
The area of the polygon,
= 12 x 8 x 7.17 / 2
= 344.18 square inches.
Therefore, the area is 344.18 square inches.
Then we would get the Imaginary Number, meaning it doesn't exist in Real Number system. That's why any negative real numbers cannot be part of the domain.
