When Europeans came to the Americas, they even had to come up with a reason to disregard their religion to use slaves, which led to the idea that those with darker colored skin were somehow lesser than those with lighter skin. No. Although King John agreed to the Magna Carta at first, he disliked it when its terms were forced upon him.

The Pope called the Magna Carta “illegal, unjust, harmful to royal rights and shameful to the English people”. He then declared the charter “null and void of all validity for ever”.
