What was the purpose of the ziggurat in Mesopotamia?

A. Storage for the grain that was produced.
B. Containment for the domesticated livestock.
C. Large scale housing for the city.
D. Temples that were built as a shrine to the clan’s protecting god.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

D

Explanation:

The ziggurat itself is the base on which the White Temple is set. Its purpose is to get the temple closer to the heavens, and provide access from the ground to it via steps. The Mesopotamians believed that these pyramid temples connected heaven and earth.

Answer 2

Ziggurats in Mesopotamia served as temples dedicated to the worship of clan-protecting gods. Therefore, option D is correct.

Ziggurats were monumental structures in ancient Mesopotamia that served as religious complexes and focal points of worship. These stepped pyramids were constructed with mud bricks and featured multiple levels, each dedicated to a specific deity.

Ziggurats were believed to be the earthly abodes of the gods, providing a place for priests and worshipers to offer sacrifices, perform rituals, and seek divine favor.

They symbolized the connection between heaven and earth, serving as centers of religious and spiritual life in the city-states of Mesopotamia. Ziggurats also represented the power and authority of the ruling elite, reinforcing their religious and political significance.

Therefore, option D is correct.

What was the purpose of the Corps of Discovery?

In order to explore the Louisiana Purchase, establish trade with and authority over the native peoples, and establish a US claim to the Pacific Northwest as well as Oregon territory before Europeans could do so.

Exploring the Louisiana Purchase, establishing trade, and asserting American rule over the native populations along the Missouri River were the objectives of the Corps of Discovery, whose members would be mostly drawn from the U.S. military.

What did Zen Buddhism teach?
a.

b.
that people would be happy at death
c.
how to achieve inner peace
d.
to fight for what is yours

Answers

Answer:

> Your answer would be the third choice; “How to achieve inner peace”

Explanation:

> Buddhism teaches the art of meditation, and as you may know, meditation is used to calm oneself, and clear one’s mind of any obstructions.

> Calming down will find yourself with peace, and “inner peace” being a more religious way of saying it.

> We can also elliminate all other answer choices. Reasoning is as follows;

> A) That nature embodied Buddha. This is incorrect, as it isn’t teaching about Buddha, it is teaching how to live in the peace that he did so in. Once again, this is incorrect.

> B) That people would be happy at death. This is incorrect, as that isn’t the main goal in the teachings of Buddhism. With the inner peace that Buddhism teaches, this may be achievable, but this is not what Buddishm exactly teaches.

> C) How to achieve inner peace. This is correct, as this is what it teaches. It allows you to clear your mind through meditation and find peace, it being inner peace in a more religious term.

> D) To fight for what is yours. This is most definitely incorrect, as buddhism teaches peace, not violence. Violence goes against all messages that Buddhism tries to get out, and is definitely not our answer.

> One final time, the correct answer is; C) How to achieve inner peace.

Explanation:

The second trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin followed the Jewish law to condemn Jesus. This statement is true.

What was the second trail of Jesus?

A minor prosecutor named Pontius Pilate presided over the second trial in a Roman secular court. He only questioned Jesus briefly before deciding to have him crucified.

Pilate famously washed his hands after the judgement to demonstrate that he had no further authority over Jesus's fate. Then, Jesus was derided, split on, and physically assaulted. The night before his execution, he was hauled away by Roman guards who tormented and tortured him. Only Pilate had the power to mandate a cross-bearing. Initially, he did not perceive any justification for Jesus execution because his offence was never made explicit and Pilate declared, "I find no wrongdoing in him"., but he was persuaded by his authorities.

Therefore, we can conclude that statement is true.

What is federal govenrment?

Since the United States Constitution's inception, the federal government has served as the country's supreme governing authority. There are three branches of the federal government: the legislative, executive, and judicial. Governments at the state and local levels are modeled after the federal one.

All of the powers reserved to the states and the people by the Tenth Amendment do not belong to the federal government.

The US president is given full authority over the executive branch. The president serves as both the nation's head of state and its supreme military commander. The president is empowered and accountable to uphold the laws passed by Congress under Article II of the Constitution.

Question 7: 3rd Amendment

Question 8: 1st Amendment

Explanation:

(I'll list the amendments that are answer choices, not all of them)

1st Amendment: This amendment states, in a brief summary, that no law shall be made prohibit the freedom of religion. Additionally, people have the right to freedom of speech, protest peacefully, and peacefully gather together.

2nd Amendment: This amendment states that the people are allowed to keep and bear Arms, or in other words, are allowed to keep and use weapons WHEN NECESSARY.

Write a paragraph that compares and contrasts your experience of reading "Thank You, Ma'am," by Langston Hughes, to watching the video. Reread the "Inside Scoop" in the lesson for a review on how to write this paragraph.

Compare and contrast the mood of both pieces. How did you feel while you were reading?

Compare and contrast the setting of both pieces. What did you picture in your imagination?

Compare and contrast the characterization. What did you picture in your imagination?

2. answer how you felt when you were reading

3. say what you pictured in your imagination that has something to do with the story

4. End on what part of the story you liked and why

5. Add examples from text and video to support the claim you have

Reading Langston Hughes’s short story "Thank You, Ma'am" and watching the video created a drastic comparison and contrast in mood, setting, and characterization.

Reading "Thank You, Ma'am" created a somber feeling of suspense, while the video created a more cinematic and uplifting environment. My imagination tailored the setting from the point of view of the story to a street setting up close to the characters in the video. Also, my imagination of the characters was different between the two mediums.

Reading constituted a more two dimensional experience, while the video created a three dimensional experience with life-like qualities. Due to the intricate differences between the two, I personally prefer watching the video as there is more of a connection to the story. Moreover, both versions demonstrate the powerful moral of the story in depicting an act of courage and kindness.
